Dreamland Beach / Padang Padang / Uluwatu
Dreamland Beach is located on the Bukit Peninsula, and takes about half an hour to reach from Kuta. It's a great location for surfers and perfect for beach lovers; with its lovely soft white sand, and fantastic scenery.
Padang Padang Beach is about three kilometres southwest from Bingin; boasting some of the best waves early in the mornings, especially during the dry season. To reach this fabulous location, you'll have to manoeuvre down a pathway between collapsed and slanted rocks.
The busiest beach is still Uluwatu, especially during a spectacular Balinese sunset, where you can catch some terrific world-class waves when the surf's up; but when the water is tranquil, the wonderfully white beach become a dreamily quiet lagoon lapped by crystal clear water.
Echo Beach Canggu
Echo Beach in Canggu, has a fine blend of rocks and white sand. It takes about 35 minutes to get there from Kuta. Seemingly deserted most of the time; with only a few vendors, surf enthusiasts, and an attractive retreat called The Beach House, serving good beer and food, and really good Sunday night barbeques.
Geger Beach
Geger Beach is just 5 minutes away from the "Bali Golf Country Club" in Nusa Dua. People often call this beach "hidden paradise"; not only because of crystal clear water, or texture of its sands; but also because it's quiet, relaxing and beautiful. Always a nice spot for a family picnic, go swimming, sunbathing or surfing.
Jimbaran Beach
Jimbaran is a fishing village and tourist resort, located south of the Ngurah Rai International Airport, and is home to the latest luxury five star hotels like Four Season's Resort, and The Intercontinental. Jimbaran Beach is on Bali's west coast, and has gentle tides, dramatic sunsets, and fine seafood restaurants that attract both locals and tourists. There are no water-sports available on the beach although some hotels can arrange events, and provide equipment for snorkeling trips and sea canoe excursions. Jimbaran Beach is one of the primary tourist locations.
Kuta Beach
Kuta Beach is the chosen location for events like the Bali Food Festival, Beach Volleyball games; Kuta beach is definitely where most of the island likes to hang out. The sands are always covered with vendors, surfers, sunbathers, wandering tourists and enthusiastic locals, all there to enjoy the Bali magic. Food and drinks are plentiful, with all the popular bars and restaurants on the beach, or across the main road, which is less than a minute's walk from the beach. It's the perfect place to learn how to surf.
Legian Beach
Legian Beach maybe less hectic than Kuta, but it's still has an attractive nightlife zone. From Legian Beach, Kuta is only a ten minute cab ride away. Nusa Dua Beach
Nusa Dua is located on the Bukit peninsula, in the southern part of Bali, about 10 km from the Bali's international airport, and is home to Bali's most prestigious resort area. The Nusa Dua Beach is where you'll find this international world - class luxury hotels elegantly lined with beautiful white sands. The white sand and shallow water at Nusa Dua beach is an ideal safe place for children to play in the sea, lifeguards are usually on duty. Nusa Dua means two islands, at low tide the seabed is exposed so that two islands are joined to the mainland - great for exploring.
Sanur Beach
Sanur was Bali's first beach resort but still retains remains largely unchanged. It takes about 20 minutes to travel from Kuta to Sanur. It's a good location to Hang out, or sunbathe on the soft sand beach. It's located on the east coast, and has a coral reef that makes it ideal for snorkeling - you can even do sea-walking, or visit the local beach restaurants and bars that provide local cuisines and entertainment.
Seminyak Beach
A few miles north of Kuta, just past Legian, is Seminyak, which has become the hippest part of southern Bali. Seminyak Beach has the same characteristics as Legian Beach, but is seen as more upscale. Limited road access to the beach means that it's less busy here than Kuta, and conditions are monitored less here than in other places, so people are advised to be more careful when swimming. The view of the sunset from the beach is quite dramatic, and attracts more people in the evenings to most of the bars located on the beach front. The atmosphere is more sophisticated and laid-back than Kuta, and the beach is a lot quieter during the day.
